What's your perfect night in and your perfect night out?

My perfect night in would be watching a good football game on TV, preferably Everton, and my perfect night out would be going out for a meal with my wife in a nice restaurant.

You’ve picked up a 2 day suspension – what are you going to do to entertain yourself?

I would take the children away on a short break somewhere – I’ve just come back from a few days away at the seaside.

What’s your favourite holiday destination?

Mauritius is lovely so that would probably be my favourite destination.

Who’d be your ideal 3 companions for the long drive to Musselburgh?

I would have to pick David Moyes, the manager of my favourite Football Cub, Everton, Ricky Tomlinson would be second as he would make us laugh all the way up and my best mate Chad, who’s Andrew Balding's travelling head lad.

What CD’s would you keep in your glove compartment for when the conversation dries up?

I mainly listen to the radio but I have Jim Davidson and Billy Connolly's CDs in my glove compartment at the moment.

Who are your biggest heroes in and out of racing?

Out of racing, it would have to be David Moyes as I think he has done a fantastic job with Everton FC and in racing it would probably be Frankie Dettori as he has done very well for himself.

What things excite you – and what do you find a turn off?

The women’s underwear section in the Littlewoods catalogue for the first one and the men's underwear section for the last one!

What’s the funniest thing that ever happened to you in the course of your career?

A few years ago I got a phone call from a trainer asking me if I already had a ride booked for the Grand National. Needless to say I promptly replied No way! He'd mistakenly picked up the wrong M Dwyer in the directory and was after Marc not me!

If you could change one thing in racing, what would it be?

I guess like most jockeys it would be the prize money and I would also put Dale Gibson at the head of anything racing related!

If you hadn’t been a jockey, what would you like to have done?

I probably would have been a footballer or a rockstar, I like to aim high!

What’s the daftest question you’ve ever been asked by a journalist?

Last year, just after I got off my Derby ride, a journalist asked me “Isn’t it great that Frankie has finally won the Derby?” I wasn't too impressed and replied “Not really, wish it was me!”

What are the best and worst rides you have ever given a horse?

One of the best ones has to be winning the Derby on Sir Percy. There has been quite a few bad ones and I couldn’t pick which one was the worst!

What’s the biggest regret of your career?

I don’t have any regrets as I dont think they get you anywhere. So far so good!
