PJA Badges
Currently licensed Flat and Jump Jockeys are entitled to two PJA metal badges, one for themselves and one for a nominated user. Licensed Apprentice and Conditional Jockeys are not issued with metal badges as a general rule but the PJA will consider individual applications once they have had over 100 rides in the previous or current season.
All badge holders should be in possession of a Category A Passcard (with an ID photo), please contact the PJA if you require a passcard application form.
Jockeys must also contact the PJA to update their record if their nominated user has changed.
Under no circumstances should PJA metal badges be passed onto any third party and a copy of the T&C’s under which badges are issued can be obtained by calling the PJA.
Retired Jockeys’ badge
Retired Jockeys are entitled to purchase one annual metal badge providing they satisfy the criteria set out by the Racecourse Association ie Jump Jockeys must have held a licence for 10 consecutive seasons or more and Flat Jockeys for 15 consecutive seasons or more.
